THE THEME IS…

ROOTED IN PRIDE.

Buffalo’s LGBTQIA2S+ community is rooted in unity. Rooted in joy. Rooted in history. Rooted in resistance. Rooted in Pride. What are the roots that keep us grounded, rain or shine? How do they give us the strength to grow toward a better future?

It’s giving queer history, resilience, blossoming, and joy. We can’t wait to see what this year’s theme means to you.

THE CATEGORY IS…

The 2026 Buffalo Pride Parade will recognize some of the most creative, real, and on-message groups with awards. The categories are:

Werk of Art – This award will go to the group with the most artistic and imaginative presentation. From DIY divas to museum-worthy masterpieces, it’s time to let your creativity bloom.

Queen City Realness – This award will go to the group that brings Buffalo’s queer roots to life. Give us a presentation that’s undeniably Buffalo and talk proud about our city’s LGBTQIA2S+ history.

Ate, No Crumbs – ‘Fit check! This award will go to the most fashionable, stunning, fierce and ferocious group. Turn a lewk and make Elmwood Avenue your runway.

Period. – This award will go to the group that sends a message so powerful, so clear, so moving or so of-the-moment that the only response imaginable is, “Period.” What does your group have to say?

Iconic Behavior – This award goes to the group who pays the best tribute to a queer icon, past or present. Show us how their roots give you the strength to grow.
